Books I read in 2010

I have been so interested to read Kiersten's end-of-year book blogs, that last year I decided to keep track of what I read all year. It's the first time I've done that, and the results surprised me a bit...I tend to read a lot of one author at a time, and I'm less consistent in reading the same number of books each month than I would have guessed. I am also really astounded at how many more books Kiersten reads than me. Work and kids instead, I suppose. Without further ado:

January
Time of the Twins by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman
War of the Twins by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman
Test of the Twins by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman

February
Nevada Bar Review by BarBri
MBE Review by BarBri
Nevada Practice Essays 2007 by BarBri
Nevada Practice Essays 2008 by BarBri
Nevada Practice Essays 2009 by BarBri
Multistate Review by BarBri
Professional Responsibility Review by BarBri

March
Dragonlance Second Generation by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman
Dragons of Summer Flame by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman
Dragons of a Fallen Sun by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman
Dragons of a Vanished Moon by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman

April
Amber and Ashes by Margaret Weiss
Amber and Iron by Margaret Weiss
Amber and Blood by Margaret Weiss
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

May
Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Love's Labor's Lost by Williams Shakespeare

June
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
Two Gentleman of Verona by William Shakespeare
Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card

July
The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare
Xenocide by Orson Scott Card

August
None

September
A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare
The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare

October
Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare
The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare
Children of the Mind by Orson Scott Card

November
As You Like It by William Shakespeare

December
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien

35 books total, so just about 3 per month. There are a few anomalies. Obviously my February reading was not for pleasure, but all bar prep for the Nevada bar exam. Yuck. The no books in August was due to the BYU football independence rumors...I spent virtually all free time trying to keep up with that. We did a fair amount of traveling in November, and I was quite busy at work during the last two months of the year.

A lot of Weiss and Hickman at the beginning. That was a nostalgia reading of all their dragonlance books which I loved as a kid. I read all of them beginning to end, starting in mid 2009.

Anyway, probably not many people still reading, but there you have it. I have really enjoyed keeping track and reviewing the list; I think it will help direct me in terms of reading lists in the future.

I wonder if I can remember how many books I've read this month...

In the future I plan to write the list in my journal. I imagine posterity may have some mild interest in what I was doing.

Pulling out the Shakespeare, huh? I like it! I haven't read any for a long time. I love that BYU football completely derailed your reading; that's awesome.
