We are pleased to introduce you all to Grace Carol. She was born last night at 1:26 am.
Rebecca started having contractions around 6 pm Friday night, so we went to the hospital. By 10 pm she was in the midst of fairly hard labor, and eventually got an epidural. (Later than she wanted, that's for sure).
Only about five minutes of pushing, and both baby and Mom are doing well after the delivery.
These pictures are from about 2:45 in the morning.
Grace came out 7 pounds 8 1/2 ounces, 20 inches long, and 13 inch diameter head. She had healthy apgar scores.
Grace and Mom shortly after arrival. Grace is so far a sweet, quiet little baby who hardly cries and just sleeps and sleeps. She also latched right on and fed within about 90 seconds.

The next morning Theresa, (Rebecca's Mom) James, and I went to visit Mom and Grace. This is James a few seconds after meeting his sister. He wanted to hold her immediately and kept whispering "baby, baby." Very sweet and gentle with her. So far our fears of jealousy are unfounded. Hopefully that keeps up.

And here we are a family of four!
We are looking forward to bringing Grace home Sunday night. Rebecca and I are both thrilled and so happy that everything went well and we have another healthy baby. Although we are a little sleep deprived. I'm sure we'll have more in the next few weeks as our second starts to grow.

Grace is beautiful, and so are you Becky. If you weren't in a hospital setting, I wouldn't have even known you had just given birth! I love all the family pictures and you can tell James really loves his little sister. Congratulations!
