Books I Read in 2023

So close, and yet so far.  This year I read 50 books, two short of a goal I have long had.  The uptick is due to an entire year where I spent a lot of work lunches reading in the new building.  It makes a huge difference to have an hour or two a week devoted to reading.  Otherwise I am so busy I can barely get above 40 on a good year.  Perhaps this will be the year with a book a week average.  With that, here is what I read this year:

I don’t have a lot of superlative comments about this year’s list.  I keep plugging along on the Shannara series.  One book to go at the close of the year.  Obviously a lot of books.  I have been working on it so long it will be interesting in the new year to start a new project in that department.

The philosophy books were coincidental; they are actually part of my classic works project.  Probably worth mentioning that I read Crime and Punishment for the first time.  Really good.  I know I often gush about my re-reading, but I can’t help it.  Every time I read the Rose of the Prophet trilogy I am just delighted.  And Calvin and Hobbes is timeless.  And A Tale of Two Cities is an unparalleled masterpiece, in my opinion.  That’s enough for 2023.  Looking forward to another year of reading.

Hey, Friend, how’s it going?
